He has achieved 1,000 yards receiving in 7 different seasons, which is an NFL record for a tight end.

Although he only appeared in 15 games that year, his 1,416 receiving yards set a new record for a tight end in a single season.

In 2018, he also temporarily held the record for the whole season until it was broken later that day.

Kelce surpassed 10,000 receiving yards during his career in the shortest amount of time, finishing the 2022 season as the fifth tight end in NFL history to do it. It was announced that Kelce will be on the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 2010s.

When Was Travis Kelce Drafted?

In the 2013 NFL Draft, Kelce was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round (63rd overall). It was during the offseason when the Chiefs made Andy Reid their new head coach.

Since Reid had previously worked with Kelce’s brother Jason as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, he was already acquainted with the family.

The Chiefs signed him to a four-year, $3.12 million rookie deal on June 6, 2013 that includes a $703,304 signing bonus.
